This was by far one of the best hackathon trips I’ve ever went to! Travel was fully reimbursed by Schulich Engineering (part of University of Calgary) because of the fortunately extra budget they had since COVID restrictions had just lifted.
I went with 2 of my closest high school friends and a recent friend I made through Ontario Tech. We flew to Calgary from Toronto and stayed at a reimbursed hotel which was relatively close to the venue.
Luckily, we found buildings which were open (even until late at night) and had a lecture hall to ourself to do our hackathon project.
